During unusual and prolonged periods of extreme temperatures, such as heat waves, the general public’s health and well-being are at risk. Socially isolated and low income groups are even more vulnerable to the effects of extreme temperatures.
As the summer approaches and temperatures rise, the City of Guelph has provided a list of city cooling centres. Information about where and how you can stay cool this summer is available HERE.
More information about how to protect yourself and others during the heat is available on the Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health website HERE. An extreme heat fact sheet can be found HERE.
Agencies are encouraged to share this information with their clients.
