Municipal Election candidates – including the City of Guelph, County of Wellington, and School Board Trustees – were asked to complete a survey provided by the Guelph & Wellington Task Force for Poverty Elimination. Candidates were encouraged to review fact sheets and videos on our website to help familiarize themselves with some of the issues referenced. The survey asks questions about affordable housing & homelessness, income inequality, food insecurity, and health inequities.

Despite incredibly busy schedules, many candidates submitted thoughtful and detailed responses that show a clear commitment to ending poverty in our communities. We are pleased to see overwhelming support for an affordable housing reserve, a living wage, and the Seed Community Food Hub, among other initiatives and priorities. We strongly encourage voters to read the following profiles and consider their responses when casting your ballot!
