Are you a front-line employee or volunteer in the social services sector? When it comes to income security programs, do you find it difficult to keep it all straight? If you’re answering “yes”, the Income Security Action Group of the Poverty Task Force has put together a workshop to meet your needs.

This one day workshop will provide you with an interactive and informative introduction to the following topics:

  • Provincial Social Assistance Programs: Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Program
  • Government of Canada Income Support Programs, including  Employment Insurance, Canada Pension, Old Age Security, Child Tax Benefits and more
  • Housing Related Benefits and Supports
  • Community Information Resources as well as legal supports and tips on how to be an effective client advocate

The workshop will also include an interactive activity that will allow you to apply your learning and consider the challenges of accessing services from a client perspective.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to stay on top of important income support programmes and network with your colleagues that are also dedicated to helping low income individuals.
