On October 18th, the Guelph & Wellington Task Force for Poverty Elimination provided a submission to the Minimum Wage Advisory Panel (MWAP). The MWAP has been appointed by the Ontario government to give advice on the province’s minimum wage.

Aside from providing feedback on the MWAP Consultation Paper, the Poverty Task Force submission examines who is making a minimum wage in Ontario, whether or not the minimum wage should be considered part of a poverty reduction strategy, and how the approach of the living wage can help shift the conversation about the minimum wage.
